After a spectacular sunrise and before you are back to catch the moon crawl out of the Pacific, walk to the ponds at Makuu Point or hike to Shipman's Beach for a small white sand beach experience. Fish the cliffs to Kaloli Point. If you feel like a drive, visit the new black sand beach at Pohoiki, swim at Kehena Beach and hike to the water at Uncle's Awa Bar. The Makuu Farmer's Market is just up the road. Pahoa Village, Orchidland, Keaau or Hilo Town have all of the restaurants and shopping you will need.
