Approximately 3,000 SF single family dwelling, carport, and other buildings; one acre strictly organic "farmette". When designing the homestead in the late 1990’s, guiding vision was to live a wholesome life, respect and interact with the land, design a home suited to a tropical climate, and use state of the art resource efficient building techniques. What they didn’t have in money they tried to make up for with audacity and imagination! Worked closely with Mark Eyler (Architects Kauai) to create an open, airy, “decentralized” compound that minimized the carbon footprint of each major system of the house..

Central to their vision was utilizing an acre of paradise for food production, playground for the kids, and peace and quiet for mom and dad. The previous owners were of similar mind and had planted a variety of food bearing trees, added breadfruit, fig, curry, and kukui nut, and also ornamental teas, gardenias, plumeria, taberna monstera, and heliconia’s. The backyard round garden plot has been groomed for many years and is ready for replanting.

The main building's front entry leads into the great room, kitchen, screened lanai, powder room, and adjacent master bedroom/bathroom. Off of the soon to be covered lanai is a separate 2-bedroom, full bath area of about 1000 sqft. In addition, a playful, private, rustic "hut” is nestled in one corner of the property. In addition to the living area there is a separate 270 sq ft office and covered carport/ storage area of 418 sqft.
