Located in North Kohala this one bedroom, custom home was built by the owner, a skilled craftsman in the building trade. It is situated in a very private, lush tropical setting not far from the towns of Kapaau and Hawi.

The interior walls are imperial plaster, the texture of which gives a beautiful, old world finish to the overall look. It is naturally mold and mildew resistant. The floor is artfully stained concrete with a high gloss finish. Doors, concrete countertops and cabinetry throughout are also custom built and finished. A large screened lanai, with ipe flooring, easily becomes an extension of the living space through the twelve foot entrance into the main room. An outdoor shower and large soaking tub on the back deck extend the bathing area into the tropical, secluded outdoors. The original roof was recently replaced with a new standing seam metal roof, complemented by half-round metal gutters.

The mature landscaping includes two income producing, rare and exotic trees; mangosteen and durian. Also on the property are lime, grapefruit, mango, papaya and banana. A seasonal stream flows along one edge and the trees surrounding the house are home to a large selection of song birds.

It all adds up to a serene and peaceful slice of old Hawaii.
