Ninole home near ocean

In Ninole, with peak-a-boo ocean views, you\'ll find a low-maintenance home located on a large manicured lot. North of Hilo, Ninole is a quick commute to Hilo, yet enjoys the peaceful tropical feel of the Hamakua Coast. This two bedroom one bath home has spacious screened in porches in front and back, providing additional living area or a place to sleep and get the \"outdoor\" feel. The front lanai offers ocean views and is cooled by the tropical tradewinds. The two bedrooms have ceiling fans. The bedrooms have unique wooden detail work. The kitchen/dining/great room are all open concept and all on a single level. Great solar photo voltaic system so electric bill is only $20 per month! The yard has a lava rock wall on the makai (oceanside) boundary, and numerous tropical fruit trees. A large separate storage building has been put up for car storage, and the home has an attached carport.

Solar voltaic panels power the entire house. As per owner, it is a 3 KW system that generates up to 18 KW on a very sunny day. Average is about 13 KW per day. Usually by the end of a 12 month cycle, owner has a surplus of 400-500 KWs which HELCO (the electric company) gets to keep. Set electric bill is $20.50 per month (which is a hookup charge per month). For the last three years, owner has paid an average monthly electric bill of $20.50 or less. Owner has a signed Net agreement with HELCO. Basically, HELCO does not pay owner for excess electricity the house produces. The house generates more electric than owner was using.
